Or maybe the existing faucet keeps leaking and doesn’t know what to do next.
In this post, we look into everything you need to know about Moen kitchen faucets.
What Size Allen Wrench Does Moen Use?
To remove or repair a Moen Renzo faucet, you’ll need a 7/64-inch hex wrench. 7/64-inch hex wrenches are also used for the handle screws on all Moen one-handle kitchen faucets.
The PosiTemp lever, which controls water temperature and flows in Moen showers, is easily removed with the same hex wrench.
What Size Set Screw For Moen Kitchen Faucet
Moen’s hardware, for the most part, requires a 7/64-inch hex wrench to install. The handle adapter is then removed with a Phillips screwdriver.
Where Is The Model Number On A Moen Kitchen Faucet?
The serial number can be located on the spout’s underside. At the bottom of the spout is a decorative ring with a serial number. The model or serial number is usually four or five digits long and may include letters before it.
Where Do The O Rings Go On A Moen Kitchen Faucet?
The O rings are placed between the plumbing valve and the faucet’s body, preventing leaks. Your Moen kitchen faucet’s o-rings form a seal between the faucet body and the kitchen sink.
If you want to change the o rings on a kitchen faucet, take off the faucet handle.
Most models feature a screw behind a red/blue plug button or under the handle cap. The location of the handle screw for your model will be shown in the components breakdown.
After removing the plug button or handle cap, use a 7/64 “To remove the handle screw, use a hex wrench. For the sequence of the handle mechanism, refer to the parts breakdown.
Once the handle mechanism kit (containing the spout retainer nut) has been removed, spin the spout back and forth while pulling up.
Some Moen faucets have handles that may be removed simply by releasing the screw in the handle’s back.
Use a 3/32″ wrench to loosen this screw. After removing the handle, loosen the spout collar nut by turning it counterclockwise, then raise and rotate the spout.
Remove the present O-rings from the valve body, making a note of where they are. Clean the inside of the spout and the outside of the valve body using a 50/50 vinegar/water solution.
Install the new O-rings on the valve body after lubricating them with the provided silicone grease. Lubricant should be applied to the exterior of the valve body and the inside of the spout hub.
Do Moen Kitchen Faucets Have Flow Restrictors?
Ideally, faucet manufacturers, such as Moen, add restrictors in modern faucets. Because water is a valuable resource, countries require flow restrictors on faucets.
It’s easy to remove a water restrictor from a Moen kitchen faucet, and you might only need to do it to clean it.
It merely takes a few minutes to remove the water restrictor.

What is causing my Moen kitchen faucet to leak?

Turn off the water supply to the faucet from underneath the counter before replacing the O-ring.

Some Moen faucets have handles that may be removed simply by releasing the screw in the handle’s back. Use a 3/32′′ hex wrench to release this screw.
